The Sweetest Bakes Mum Will Love ❤️

hi there Reader

me, my book & I

Hello, hello!

What a wild week it's been here at Sweetest Menu HQ. I had the absolute pleasure of hosting a Q&A with the amazing Emelia Jackson this week at Robinson's bookstore.

It was a wonderful night and it was so special to meet some of you in person! It honestly lights up my world to hear in person how much you enjoy my recipes.

I also may have gotten my hands on a super advanced copy of my new cookbook, Something Sweet. Eeeek! The photos are so gorgeous in real life but what I'm most excited about is seeing you all experiencing the joy of baking with your family and friends. I'm counting down until June 30 when it'll be on bookshelves around the country.

In my kitchen this week, I made my Moist Chocolate Cake and my Best Chocolate Frosting for my friend's birthday. I forgot how good both recipes are - we were all licking the bowl on that icing!

I've also made my Chocolate Self-Saucing Pudding and my lovely Lemon Pound Cake. Next on my list is my Chocolate Bread!

Strawberries and Cream Cookies by Jessica Holmes

hi there Reader strawberries & cream cookies When I was dreaming up a new cookie recipe to add to our Cookie Collection, I couldn’t stop thinking about berries. I landed on creating a beautiful Strawberries And Cream Cookie from scratch. So I conducted a cookie experiment, making the same cookie dough three times – but one with fresh berries, one with frozen berries and one with freeze-dried berries. L to R: Fresh berries, frozen berries and freeze-dried berries. The truth is, they all...

Jessica Holmes' Cornflake Crunch

hi there Reader cornflake crunch If you follow along on Instagram, you would have seen that I have been making these crunchy little morsels ALL WEEK LONG. I just hit publish on my new 5 ingredient recipe for Cornflake Crunch. Soaked in honey, butter and brown sugar, these little golden flakes are then caramelised in the oven until they smell toasty. This recipe was inspired by two things: America's Milk Bar Bakery and the delicious treats I grew up with in Australia called Honey Joys. A few...

Homemade Cheese Scones

hi there Reader cheese scones Remember when I went to New Zealand two months ago? I ate my weight in cheese scones over there just so I could come home and recreate a fantastic Cheese Scone recipe for you. You Are Welcome. Well I've done it. It's finally here. And it does NOT disappoint. Just like the ones I had in NZ, these small but tall scones are filled with flaky layers and feature a crispy cheesy top. And remember how we learnt with my Buttermilk Scone recipe that a good homemade scone...
