The BEST Peach Cake + Lunchbox Snacks You Need

hi there Reader

peach cake

Hello, hello, hi. It's almost the end of Jan (literally the last day 🀣) and I've just hit publish on my first recipe for 2025.

And trust me, this is a goodie. Let me introduce you to my Easy Peach Cake.

Made using just basic pantry ingredients, it takes all the sweetness of juicy peaches and combines it with a tender and buttery vanilla cake.

If you follow on Instagram Stories, you would have seen my failed attempts at a beautiful Peach Cake. But once I moved from oil to butter, I was rewarded with the most moreish teacake I think I've ever had.

I hope you love this one as much as I do.

And if fresh peaches are not in season in your part of the world, make sure you bookmark this one for next peach season πŸ‘

I'm going to make it as many times as I can before summer ends and I have to wait another year to enjoy this buttery crumb.

If you're in a similar life-stage to me, your end of January is filled with back-to-school madness and the dreaded lunchboxes have returned.

Or maybe you're back at work and want some sweet treats to take for morning or afternoon tea. Here are my go-to's for this time of year:

Make use of the ripe bananas in your fruit bowl, with my favourite Chocolate Banana Muffins or my easy Banana Bread.

For a slice on-the-go that you can customise with whatever you have on hand, try my Easy Oat Slice.

Minimise the breakfast headaches with my simple Homemade Granola (I have a double batch of this currently cooling on my kitchen bench).

Or for a refined sugar-free lunchbox treat, go for my Toddler Muffins.

If cookies are your thing, my Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies are always popular this time of year (no mixer needed).

Or try my Anzac bikkies if you need something egg-free.

Ok that's it from me. I'm heading back to the kitchen now to start work on a new cookie recipe.

Hint: If you love β˜•οΈ, you'll be pleased.

Happy baking,

Jess xx

hi there Reader big news Hello, hello! I'm terribly sorry for the radio silence over here. For the past three months, I've been keeping a secret from you. But it's time to let the cat out of the bag. For the last 11 years, I’ve been developing my own recipes and publishing them on Sweetest Menu. And YOU have been making them. But there is one thing you have asked me for. Again. And again. And again. And it’s finally happening. I’m writing a cookbook. One more time for those in the back. I'M...

hi there Reader lemon coconut cake Happy April and happy Easter! I hope you're hopping into the Easter break and not diving over the finish line like me πŸ˜… It's been a big few weeks here at SM (more on that soon πŸ˜‰) but I'm loving all the Easter baking, whether it's fluffy Hot Cross Buns or a simple NYC Cookie filled with chocolate Easter eggs. But if there's one thing that should grace your Easter table this year, I hope it's my NEW Lemon Coconut Cake. She's just lovely with two layers of soft...

hi there Reader chocolate nyc cookies Hello hello! I blinked and suddenly it was March. Are you feeling the same? The leaves are turning orange, my baby boy is turning two and I'm wondering where February went. But I've had a blast this last week making a (very rustic 🀣) train cake for my toddler and getting my latest recipe live for you. Can somebody say big fat Double Chocolate Cookies?! If you've been around these parts for a while, you'll know my copycat Levain Bakery Chocolate Chip...
