The Orange Cake You've Been Waiting For + No Mixer Cookies 🍪

I made so many Orange Cakes this week. I set about trying to make a Whole Orange Cake that used the entire orange IN the cake batter.

I’ve made plenty of orange cakes in my time, including my Orange and Poppyseed Cake and my Orange Pound Cake. But adding a whole orange, rind and all? That was new to me. So I grabbed my food processor and gave it a go.

All I knew was I wanted the cake to be gluten free and I wanted to skip the boiling of the oranges. This is an extra step some recipes take to mitigate the bitterness of the orange skin. But I wanted to skip the faff.

TLDR: You can read all about my recipe testing adventures in the blog post, but safe to say, my first attempt was awful but I got there in the end!

This easy Whole Orange Cake is gluten-free and made entirely in the food processor. It uses one whole orange and takes only 15 minutes to make.

Drizzled with a simple two-ingredient orange sugar glaze, it’s bursting with orange flavour. It's soft and moist and stays fresh for days!
